Those who are looking for a pet that requires just a small amount of room and limited care and attention may be happy with something in the rodent family. While some people call on exterminating to remove mouse and mice problems, others find that these tiny creatures are ideal for pets. While you may not be able to domesticate a rodent you find roaming your duct system or the attic, you can choose something from the same family at a pet store, create a comfortable cage, and have the perfect small pet. Also, consider hamsters and guinea pigs if you want something from the rodent family that is which is cuddly and cute.

Consider a breed like Chihuahua or toy Poodle if you are looking for a canine that is small in size and happy to spend most of its time sitting on family laps. Reptiles make great pets and you can confine them to a terrarium without having to worry about health problems and lack of activities. Reptiles are often happy to spend time outside of their living environment and will sit on humans and be social, but they are just as content in their cages or glass enclosures.
Those looking for something a little less lizard-like can set up an aquarium in their home and fill it with colorful fish. Fish are great pets and require very little attention, but at the end of a long day they offer relaxation and companionship. Watching a fish swim in its tank is one of the most soothing forms of meditation there is.
