Vacationing in Orlando is not just a daytime experience as there is plenty to do at night too. A concentrated area for nightlife can be found at the CityWalk section of the Universal Studios theme park. There you will find night clubs, cinemas, restaurants, shops and concert venues. The nightclubs span a variety of musical genres and you should be able to find one that suits your tastes. So let’s have a look at the entertainment that is currently on offer at Citywalk in Orlando.
Bob Marley: A Tribute to Freedom – This is a recreation of Bob Marley's Jamaica Home which was turned into a museum after Marley’s death in 1981. If you are a reggae lover then this is the place to go for dining, live reggae music and a chance to look at memorabilia associated with Bob Marley.
Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville – This is a place to eat, drink, dance and be merry. They offer live bands nightly and as the name suggests the drink du jour here is the Margarita.
Pat O'Brien's: This club is based on Pat O'Brien's of New Orleans. The décor of the famed New Orleans venue is replicated here including a fire and water fountain out on the patio. If you are brave enough to try their Hurricane drink then beware that it contains four ounces of rum!
Latin Quarter: This is a venue that is a favorite of Orlando’s Hispanic community as well as with visiting tourists. During the day it is a chic dining establishment and at night it is a swinging night club.
The Groove is another night spot that is popular with locals and tourists alike. It has the look of a turn-of-the-century theater converted into a nightclub. It features popular dance music and is especially attractive to those who like dancing to the music of the 70’s, 80’s, and dance hits. You have to be over 21 to enter this club.
The Red Coconut Club is Orlando’s newest nightclub and ultra-lounge. It sits atop CityWalk, where you can take in the stars on the balcony, mellow out at intimate tables inside, or mix with lively crowds around the bars. The dress code here is “casual-chic” so don’t try to enter with tee shirts, shorts and sandals. This is also another 21 and over establishment.
Citywalk's Rising Star: If you ever dreamed of being in a band, then this is the club for you. It is a karaoke club where you can go to the center of the stage and be the lead singer of the band. There is live music backing you up as you sing your favorite songs in front of an adoring audience. This is a 21 or over club except on Thursday nights when it is 18+
There is no admission charge for CityWalk, although individual clubs often have cover charges. Visitors can also buy a Key to the Clubs, providing admission to all venues.
Operating hours are generally 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., although each venue has its own hours.
